Opportunities for housing providers

A variety of BC Housing programs and initiatives offer partnership opportunities for housing providers.

Housing supply programs
BC Housing administers a number of housing supply programs. These programs provide opportunities for housing providers to partner with BC Housing.

  • Independent Living BC (ILBC) - The ILBC program enables seniors and people with disabilities to live independently by providing them with assisted living units. These self-contained apartments offer residents with support in their daily activities.
  • Community Partnership Initiatives (CPI) - BC Housing partners with municipalities, non-profit societies, and other housing groups to support innovative projects that create subsidized housing for people in the greatest need. We offer a range of support to projects that have significant equity from other sources. These supports may include assistance arranging for financing, development advice and some one-time grant funds.
  • Provincial Homelessness Initiative (PHI) - The goal of the Provincial Homelessness Initiative , initiated by the Premier’s Task Force on Homelessness, Mental Illness and Addictions , is to break the cycle of homelessness and help people to move toward greater self-reliance. The federal and provincial governments are contributing about $42 million each for developments that combine subsidized housing with support services for people who are homeless or at risk of homelessness.
