Contractors and suppliers

BC Housing partners with non-profit and private housing providers, other levels of government, health authorities and community agencies to develop affordable housing. We work with these partners to provide quality, cost-effective and appropriate housing for those in British Columbia in greatest need.

Why work with BC Housing?
BC Housing provides subsidized housing for those in need who cannot find suitable, affordable housing in the private market. We are the largest landlord in the province, managing 70% of the public housing portfolio. Non-profit societies and private operators manage the rest of the subsidized housing in BC with operating agreements in place with BC Housing. Through those agreements, we provide ongoing subsidies and other financial, technical and administrative support.

These developments offer many contracting opportunities for construction, development and other professionals.

Builders
Non-profit and private housing operators contract development work for the Independent Living BC program (ILBC) to the construction industry. For information on ILBC construction guidelines, click here . To learn more about housing providers, click here .
