Addiction Recovery Program
This program is a partnership between BC Housing and Vancouver
Coastal Health and is available in
Vancouver, Richmond, the North Shore and Sunshine Coast
and the Fraser Health Authority region. The program provides
transitional supported housing to people in recovery from
problematic substance use.
Individuals referred to the program must:

Be residing in a support recovery facility funded by
Vancouver Coastal Health or Fraser Health Authority

Have a demonstrated commitment to recovery for at least
three months

Have no other appropriate housing options available to
them

Be committed to an alcohol and drug-free lifestyle, which
may include the use of prescribed medications and opiate
replacement therapies as part of their overall recovery
plan

Have substance use and mental health treatment and support
services integrated into their ongoing recovery plan

Have a relapse prevention plan in place

Have a personal recovery plan, which includes social
reintegration, job skills or education training and/or
employment counseling

Have the skills and abilities to live independently with
minimal supports
The Program Coordinators meet regularly with clients to review
their personal recovery plan and support services. They also offer
education services to BC Housing staff and consultation for tenants
with problematic substance use.
