Operations staff manages the application process for prospective tenants and administers a variety of programs for tenants in BC Housing-managed developments. The branch oversees five Regional Offices around British Columbia and administers group homes on behalf of several ministries. It is also responsible for overseeing BC Housing’s commitment to Emergency Social Services in British Columbia. The Corporate Services branch includes finance, information
technology, research and corporate planning, purchasing, legal
services, office services and records management. These services
provide financial and administrative management to support BC
Housing programs and services.
Corporate Services is also responsible for Freedom of
Information / Protection of Privacy and Ombudsman requests. If you

BC Housing is responsible for ensuring that supply of subsidized
housing increases to meet the demand of those in greatest need.
This process is facilitated by Development Services who is
responsible for implementing provincial and joint
provincial/federal subsidized housing supply programs. Examples of
these housing supply programs include
Independent Living BC
,
Provincial Homelessness Initiative
, and
Community Partnership Initiatives .
The Human Resources branch is responsible for recruiting and
hiring new employees, labour negotiations, compensation/benefits
administration, organizational development and performance
management.
Human Resources provides support to BC Housing employees and ensures that they are in the best position possible to help the organization achieve its objectives. The branch ensures that BC Housing staff work in a safe environment and have access to opportunities for individual growth and learning. It creates and manages programs that attract, motivate, engage and retain employees.
Corporate Communications
Corporate Communications is responsible for developing and managing internal and external communication strategies to strengthen BC Housing as a progressive and responsive organization. The branch manages external communications activities including issues management, media relations, housing program announcements, and government, stakeholder and community relations. Corporate Communication staff coordinates participation in private and non-profit housing events and conferences, and groundbreaking and opening ceremonies for new housing developments. In addition, Corporate Communications is responsible for BC Housing’s website, the online employee newsletter, and a range of corporate publications.
Asset Strategies
The Asset Strategies Branch is responsible for developing and implementing a province-wide strategy and business model for the redevelopment, improvement and sustainability of the social housing stock. Asset Strategies oversees major repairs, renovation, capital improvement and energy retrofit projects on social housing such as the repairs to the Single Room Occupancy hotels . The branch also develops construction and energy efficiency strategies and standards used in the development of subsidized housing.
